BAD START BUT PROGRESS MADE!!

Bit of a grump this morning!!...OH wanted to go to Lanzarote for Christmas l wasn't so enthusiastic and he can't find anything
So decision made not to look any more......not a happy bunny!!

Putting up a curtain pole was a nightmare took an hour to drill one hole!!...OH definitely not a happy bunny hehehe....but the pole was eventually up curtain hung and it made such a difference to keeping the heat in the dinning room...temporary measure having doors fitted in January
Photo of floating shelf inspiration for fireplace...and l have 3 of those trees in the Christmas dec's still to be dung out of the attic
Slight change of plan to the shelf though
Update:
Wall painted white, curvy brackets cut, all painted and lying in pieces on the lounge floor drying tomorrow will see it all put together
old pine mirror also painted white
aaaaaaaaaaand.....

We saw this head board loved it but then found out this picture is 3 of them at £79 each in Ikea..wow expensive!
We bought the wood for £16 and Phil made one very similar although not quite as high....all ready for me to paint..looks fab Phil
hugs xx

watch this space..........lol

NEW FIREPLACE IN THE MAKING

Woke this morning and asked.....'can we build a simple fireplace today please?' as always Phil said 'of course'... love him always up for my madness hehehe

So off to find the wood and paint nothing quite long enough in the shed

But a half price floating shelf in Homebase and a 1/3off the white paint (a very very big tube of Dulux white paint a good buy as the whole house has always been white and is now in need of a touch up) and an old pine mirror in the bedroom that needed moving was going to be perfect....

l played a bit with a wire tree, candles and a new Santa l bought at the Birmingham German Market but it needed more

The chimney breast is pale turquoise.....an experiment to add some colour to the walls a few months ago but it will be white again tomorrow and the fireplace will be finished and the stockings hung
Beginning to look Christmasy in the candle light already

IT'S CHRISTMAS WITH A RAINBOW OF COLOUR......

Always the 1st decoration l add to the house at Christmas

Rainbow Colors by Sharon MacDonald

A rainbow of colors,
In the light, after rain.
There are seven of them,
And, each one has a name.

Red is the first
Rainbow color in the sky.
Orange is next
Like jack-o-lantern pie.

Yellow is the third,
Lemons come to mind.
Color four is green,
Think of grassy hills to climb

Blue is color five,
Like the water in a lake
The sixth is indigo
Blue-gray blends that you can make.

Violet is the color
Of the last rainbow band.
Violet is flowery;
Like the pedals in your hand.

So, wave your arms above you
Cast your colors high
And, try to make a rainbow
Across a cloudy sky

Well l've tried my hardest almost worn my snowflake punch out!!....all the colours of the rainbow....Phil was complaining they didn't twinkle like the bedroom snowflakes!!

I'm sure l can get coloured holographic card from Dagfields....oooh another little trip to a favourite card/paper suppliers...then l can make a rainbow of big snowflakes might even look for another new design punch or die.....did l say l love all this Christmas playtime? lol
and more rainbow snowflakes...a riot of colour lol
Splodge sitting on top of the radiator

Bought lots of red and white fabrics for Christmas going to do red and white Christmas cards and the dining room is fast going all red and white with splashes of pale blue...so made an executive decision it's a red and white Christmas

Also decided l still need to keep my bright colours and white as we moved back into the front sitting room yesterday
Getting cold at night so no good for sitting and watching evening TV in the conservatory 91 degrees in there yesterday but cold as the sun goes down...radiator in there still not connected up...second winter...think we need to get organised!!

It's been a real problem for a loooooooooooooong time already taken it down once but was worse after...you can have a shower in the kitchen at the same time as the bathroom right now....ooops!..dam nightmare it is....one of those cowboy builders did the bathroom!!

Fingers crossed we can sort it out this time
